College
We have developed strong links with our local colleges, with representatives coming into school on a regular basis to speak directly to students as part of structured careers events.
College open days are the perfect way to explore your options and learn more about the wide variety of courses that are available. They also offer a great opportunity to visit the campus, meet staff and students and get a taste of college life.

Copies of prospectuses for all local colleges can be found in the Careers Base (P2).

Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships are an excellent pathway for students who want the option of learning outside of a typical classroom environment, or who want to gain vital work experience whilst still studying for a formal qualification – all while earning a wage!
More and more companies are now offering fantastic apprenticeship opportunities to young people, but often understanding them and how they work can be quite tricky to grasp.
The careers team are always on-hand to help you with advice and guidance about apprenticeships, including how to find and apply for them.
As with the colleges, we are proud to have great links with many of the apprenticeship providers in the area. Many of them regularly attend our careers events in school so all students have a chance to access information regarding what apprenticeships can offer.

The Government website offers information on pathways into apprenticeships as well as advertising all live apprenticeship available. Students can create accounts and apply for apprenticeships through this website.
