Prom fund given a boost by Easter raffle success

22 March 2024 (by admin)

This year’s Year 11 Prom Fund has been given a boost thanks to the success of an Easter-themed raffle that has generated £298 towards staging the event.

The raffle was organised by Year 11 Tutor, and Teacher of Maths, Miss Makey, who said: “I’m overwhelmed with the response and grateful to everyone who donated a prize, bought a ticket, or gave up their time to help. This level of support shows how well our school community pulls together and it was fantastic to see the excitement of our winners.

“Special thanks to Mrs Bosman, Mrs Thompson and Mrs Sleight for selling tickets at the school production, to Mrs Owens and Mrs Mead for making some of the basket prizes, and to Mrs Frazer and some of our ERP students for being enthusiastic about helping to sell tickets on a breaktime.

“The money raised from the raffle will go directly towards the school prom fund so that we can make sure Year 11 leave us with a night they will remember forever.

“Being a Year 11 tutor, and being part of their journey, is a privilege. Watching them grow as people is one of the most rewarding parts of our job and I am looking forward to seeing them celebrate the end of their exams, and the end of their time in high school, at the prom in July.”

The Year 11 Prom will take place at the MKM Stadium, Hull, on Friday 5th July. Further information about the event will be shared with parents/carers and Year 11 students after the Easter holiday.
