Under 13 Girls’ Football: Withernsea 1 – St Mary’s 7

26 October 2023 (by admin)

Last night (Wednesday, 25th October) the U13s girls’ football team played a tough game against St Mary’s.

The WHS girls had their work cut out as they only had nine players, meaning no available substitutions. It also meant that some of the girls had to play the match out of their normal positions. However, many of them were ready to take on this challenge.

WHS found a goal at the start of the second half to make it 3-1, with Marlie Warner being the one to find the back of the net.

Despite the game not going their way, ending 7-1 to St Mary’s, the WHS team should be proud of their efforts. Mylie Gardener, in particular, never gave up and continued working really hard right until the very end.

Well done to: Chloe Clubley, Charley Blyth, Connie Thompson, Lily Atkins, Hayley Bloor, Mylie Gardner, Caitlyn Walker, Charlie Collins and Marlie Warner.
