  • Mental Health Awareness Week
    At Withernsea High School, this year's Mental Health Awareness Week was marked with an assembly for students in Years 7 to 10 – led by a representative of the East Riding Mental Health Support Team.

    Year 10 students have been working on garden-themed projects in Engineering this term. Firstly, making a bird box and then a gardening trowel.

    It's been a busy few weeks for the members of our student-led Board for Change. Work has included bike shed improvements, a mountain biking trip to Dalby Forest and peer-to-peer support for students accessing exercise opportunities.

    Students at Withernsea High School are continuing to benefit from a number of incentives designed to recognise and reward strong attendance.  
  • ‘We will run this together’ – staff and students take on 10k challenges for cancer support
    Taking inspiration from a friend and colleague who continues to benefit from the support of a prominent cancer care charity, a number of staff are gearing up to run next month’s Hull 10k in a show of solidarity for all those who are dealing with cancer.
  • Young entrepreneurs impress with innovative idea
    A team of budding young entrepreneurs have secured a place in the final of a national competition after impressing judges with their idea for a socially inclusive shopping centre during a careers and enterprise contest.
  • Snack Shack open for business!
    As part of a continuing process to enhance the break and lunchtime experience at Withernsea High School, this term has seen the launch of the brand new ‘Snack Shack’ – an additional servery to help deliver more choice and flexibility for students.
