Safer Internet Day 2018

Safer Internet Day 2018 will this year be celebrated globally on Tuesday 6th February 2018 with the slogan “Create, Connect and Share Respect: A better internet starts with you”.

Withernsea High School will join more than a thousand organisations across the UK to help inspire a national conversation about using technology responsibly, respectfully, critically and creatively.

E-safety co-ordinator Mr S Petrow commented: 'The internet is a fantastic resource both at school and at home. Our students will be working through activities during tutor time on this day which are designed to make them reflect on how they use the internet and how this can affect others around them.

The world of technology moves at a fast pace. Ever increasing screen-time with smart phones and tablets can be a concern for parents who want to understand and help their child navigate the online world smartly and safely.

The links below offer useful information and guides for parents on the safe use of phones, tablets and games consoles. I hope these are of use to parents in supporting the message of internet safety for all students. Thank you for your continued support.'
