September 2019

Year 5 and 6 Open Evening

Our Year 5 and 6 Open Evening takes place on Thursday 3rd October between 5.00pm and 8.00pm.

This popular annual event provides a fantastic opportunity for parents/carers and their children to tour our school, meet our staff and watch our subject areas come to life through a range of engaging displays and interactive demonstrations.

There will be fun, practical activities to enjoy across all subject areas, providing prospective students with a full flavour of what Withernsea High School has to offer.

The evening will also offer an opportunity for you to:

● Meet the school's Senior Leadership Team
● Meet Heads of Year and other key staff
● Learn more about daily life at Withernsea High School
● Try our school dinners
● Find out about school transport, including our 50% reimbursement scheme for students travelling to us from outside our catchment area along the A1033.

Plus much more!

Primary school visits

On Friday 13th September, Mr Wardman (Deputy Headteacher) visited a number of local primary schools where he spoke to pupils about the event and answered their questions.

Each pupil received a letter for parents/carers and a promotional event flyer. In addition, each school was given a copy of our most recent Prospectus and our School Transport guide.

These documents can also be viewed/downloaded by clicking the links below:

School Prospectus Transport Guide Letter to parents/carers Year 5 and 6 Flyer
Our most recent Prospectus for the 2019-2020 academic year. Contains information about transport to and from school, including details of our reimbursement scheme. A letter to parents/carers handed out to pupils during the primary visits. Promotional flyer advertising the event.

Mr Wardman commented: 'It was a pleasure to meet the staff and pupils of our local primary schools and share with them the details of our open evening. I was particularly impressed with the maturity of the questions asked by the pupils and the clear excitement many of them already have about beginning their high school education.

We look forward to welcoming pupils and their parents/carers to the school during October's event. However, should any parents/carers be unable to attend our open evening, but would still like to learn more about our school, please contact me to arrange an appointment for a tour of our facilities. I can be contacted directly via wardmanb@wscampus.net or through our switchboard on 01964 613133.'
