Withernsea High School students enjoy ‘a day in the life’ of the NHS

On Tuesday 13th November, 20 year 8 students from Withernsea High School were given the chance to experience many of the different roles the NHS has to offer in the fourth annual ‘A Day in the Life of the NHS’ event at Hull Royal Infirmary.

Independent learning celebrated in Maths

Four Year 9 students have recently been praised for their commitment to learning after fully completing a ‘Mathswatch’ task in their own time, without the support of their teachers.

Caitlin Grice, Libby Hickman, Trinity Jackson and Leah Wright all successfully completed a Mathswatch challenge during the six weeks summer holiday.

Remembrance at Withernsea High School

To commemorate the hundredth anniversary of the end of World War 1, a special art installation has been created at Withernsea High School as a focal point for remembrance.

Designed by Art teacher Janine Keith, the installation features over 1,000 poppies which have been handcrafted from recycled plastic drinks bottles by a countless number of students.

Stunning Year 7 homework 'cell-ebrated' by Science Faculty

Since joining the school in September, our Year 7 cohort have made a strong start to their high school education.

From the outset, they have consistently maintained a positive attitude to learning and have delivered some stunning examples of work across all subject areas. 

This has been particularly highlighted in Science thanks to an optional homework challenge which many students eagerly opted to take part in.
