Withernsea High School presents The Greatest Showcase

Dance students at Withernsea High School are busy preparing for their next live performance extravaganza which is scheduled to take place early in the New Year.

‘The Greatest Showcase’ is a celebration of pop icons and the qualities that define them. From expression to strength, individuality to confidence - the characteristics that define our icons also shape our performers.

Over 100 students from Years 7 to 13 will draw inspiration from an array of world-famous icons as they perform routines to classic pop anthems and contemporary chart hits from some of the music world’s most ubiquitous performers.

Teacher of Dance, Mrs Hughes, commented: ‘Our showcase promises to create an enjoyable evening for the family, creating a great platform for our young people to showcase their skills, hard work and talent in dance performance.’

Following a number of successful years performing at Bridlington Spa Theatre, this year the show will move to Hull University’s recently-refurbished Middleton Hall.

Boasting a 400 capacity auditorium, complete with state-of-the-art staging, lighting and sound equipment, the venue is the perfect setting for this unique showcase.

Mrs Hughes, added: ‘Our students have enjoyed many successful performances on the stage of Bridlington Spa Theatre. This year however, we decided we would take them out of their comfort zone and offer them an exciting opportunity to shine at a new venue. Echoing the themes of the showcase, we hope to inspire confidence in our performers with this move.’
