Residential experience helps Year 7 students to achieve more than they thought possible

In May 2012, Withernsea High School held its first weekend residential opportunity for Year 7 students at the Kingswood Outdoor Centre in the Dearne Valley.

At its inception, the aim was to deliver a fun weekend of outdoor activities designed to boost confidence and help develop key life-skills, such as resilience and communication, in the school’s youngest students.

Kingswood Residential Trip - Information

A reminder that the Year 7 Kingswood Residential Trip takes place this weekend, Friday 10th – Sunday 12th May.

The trip will depart from the front of school at 11.30am tomorrow (Friday, 10th May). As they will be travelling over lunchtime, students should come prepared with a packed lunch.

Mathematics success for Withernsea High School students

Towards the end of the Spring Term, six students from Years 9 and 11 took part in the Intermediate Mathematics Challenge – a national competition held annually to inspire young mathematicians.

Withernsea High School to host cardiac screening session for young people

On Wednesday 12th June 2019, around 100 local young people will be screened by the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) thanks to the outstanding fundraising efforts of the family and friends of former Withernsea High School student Darren Uscroft who tragically died in 2015 aged just 27.

The screening, which will take place in the school's Holderness Learning Centre (Sixth Form Centre), is open to current students of the school and members of the local community who are aged between 14 and 35.
