Year 7 conquer castles project

As part of the Norman Conquest unit of their History lessons, Year 7 were recently tasked with designing and building their own version of a motte-and-bailey or stone castle which they believed would be capable of withstanding an enemy attack.

Second in Humanities Sam Bell commented: 'The response from Year 7 has been truly remarkable, with all of their castles having been made to a high standard. The level of detail included in some is very impressive, making the models some of the best we have seen.

After some tough deliberation, we decided that the winners of the competition are Rhianna Foster, Abi Little, Alex Watt and Lucy Atkinson. Congratulations to all four winners, as well as everyone else who took part.'
