Town’s former airfield marked with commemorative plaque
The strategic importance of a former airfield that once occupied the present-day site of Withernsea High School has been recognised thanks to the work of a national charity.
Friday 21st June: Non-uniform day
On Friday 21st June, Withernsea High School will be holding a fundraising non-uniform day.
For only 50p (payable to Form Tutors), students are permitted to wear safe and appropriate non-school uniform.
All money raised will go towards the purchase of building materials to help with the construction of a school just outside of Siem Reap in Cambodia.
Later this month, a group of our Sixth Form students will visit Cambodia to help with the building work.
A-Level Taster Sessions: English Literature and Film Studies
We are pleased to offer A-Level taster lessons for students interested in choosing English Literature and/or Film Studies for their A-Levels.
These sessions will run Thursday 27th June, Period 2 for Literature and Period 3 for Film, both in Y13 with Mrs Aldridge.
Memory of former student honoured with heart screening session
Following his tragic death at the age of only 27, the memory of former Withernsea High School student Darren Uscroft was honoured last week with a cardiac screening session for the young people in our community.
Thanks to the tireless fundraising efforts of Darren’s friends and family, enough money was raised to screen 100 young people aged between 14 and 35.
