Success for Withernsea High School students as results open doors to bright futures

A solid set of results saw an improvement on those gained in 2017, with a pass rate this year of 96% across A-level and Level 3 BTEC subjects and 46% of courses graded at A*-B or equivalent.

Headteacher Mark Crofts commented: ‘My congratulations go to our Year 13 students who, with these results, are moving on to a new and exciting chapter of their lives. In every case, these individual results have been hard-won and we are really proud of our students, not only for gaining the grades they have, but for how they have achieved them.

Their results today will undoubtedly lead to further success, whether that be in higher education or employment. This could not have been achieved without the support of parents and carers, nor without the dedication of our staff at Withernsea High School. We all look forward to hearing of their progress as they move onwards.’

Director of Sixth Form Keith Bedson added: ‘I am really pleased with the results achieved by our Year 13 cohort and I am delighted that these have opened doors for them at universities including Leeds, Sheffield and Newcastle. For those opting to explore different avenues, these results offer access to apprenticeships and other employment opportunities which will form a solid foundation on which they can build successful careers. Congratulations to them all.’
