Year 11 Awards

Last Friday afternoon, students in Withernsea High School’s Year 11 cohort enjoyed a shared celebration of successes in front of their peers with a special awards assembly.

Over 20 students were presented with certificates to recognise individual excellence in subjects across all areas of the curriculum.

A special award was also presented to a member of the year group who has racked up an impressive 100% attendance record. Since starting Withernsea High in September 2012, Millie Bee has become the only person in her year to have never missed a day of school.

After the assembly, all Year 11 students received the results of their recent mock exams. Held throughout February and early March, the exams help provide a good indication of progress ahead of the final exams which begin in May.

Headteacher Richard Williman commented: ‘It was a real privilege to present awards to a number of our high achieving Year 11 students during our mock results afternoon and awards ceremony. These awards recognised the hard work and commitment of our students across all subjects and demonstrated that excellence can be achieved by anyone through hard work and practice.’
