Year 12 Mock Results

Last week, students in Year 12 received the results of their recent mock exams.

Sat towards the end of their first year in Sixth Form, the mock exams are a crucial tool for checking the progress of Year 12 students by allowing them to evaluate what has gone well and where there is need for improvement and extra study.

The exams make use of past papers to give students an authentic taste of what their final exams will be like. The mock results day also helps provide a further taste of authenticity by emulating the conditions in which students will receive their final results – allowing students to share the experience of opening their results and celebrating successes together.

Overall, the results paint a very positive picture, showing strong and consistent progress across all subjects.

Keith Bedson, Director of Learning: Post-16, commented: ‘These results are really promising and reflect the hard work that went into preparing for the exams.  It was a really positive atmosphere in the Holderness Learning Centre and there was much to celebrate.  The students now need to reflect on what their subject teachers tell them are their strengths and weaknesses and set themselves some clear targets for Year 13.’
