Withernsea High School students celebrate GCSE results

Following the release of last week’s A-Level outcomes, it was today the turn of Year 11 students to return to Withernsea High School to collect their GCSE results.

Deputy Headteacher Mark Crofts met with students, commenting: 'It was a pleasure to join with students, their families and our staff this morning as GCSE results were received and achievements celebrated.

For so many young people in Year 11 this morning represented the culmination of hard work over not just one, but many years in school.

Furthermore, today marked the beginning of another exciting chapter in their education and we are delighted to have enrolled many students for the Sixth Form as well as ensuring others move onto an appropriate course.

With positive outcomes in core subjects supported by strong outcomes in subjects such as Art, Dance and Sport, students will move on from Year 11 with qualifications that open doors for them.

Congratulations go to all our students on their efforts and achievements.

However, this would not be have been possible without the hard work and commitment of our staff as well as the support from parents, carers and governors, and I would like to thank all who have worked with, and supported, these young people.'
