Overview


With brand new state of the art facilities including a large Sports Hall, Fitness Suite and 4G artificial pitch, there has never been a better time to study Sport at Withernsea High School.

Multi million pound facilities has now improved our PE provision for our students even further.  A 4G artificial pitch, state of the art Sports hall and Dance studio and extensive playing fields allows our KS3 students to develop their skills in the very best surroundings.  Students that take part in Physical Education at Withernsea High School will be rewarded with fun, engaging lessons and staff that prioritise all of ours students needs.

Throughout KS3 in Physical Education students will explore new skills and develop ones that they already possess.  Students are expected to flourish as participants, officials and coaches.  Students will adopt different skills in performing, analysing tactics and developing leadership skills.

 

What will I learn?


 

Years 7 and 8  

In KS3 Physical Education students will learn skills, tactics and rules across a broad spectrum of different activities such as a variety of Invasion games, Gymnastics, Athletic events and Net and striking games.  These include football, rugby, netball, badminton, dodgeball, rounders, cricket, softball, basketball, gymnastics, ultimate frisby, gaelic football and others.  Students are taught skills and tactics to use across the variety of sports and are expected to develop their knowledge over the two years.

There are many opportunities to take part in extra-curricular sports clubs at lunchtimes and after school as well as engaging in large activities such as ski trips, East Riding Athletic events, Sainsburys school game events and many more.
