Primary pupils get a taste of High School life

Last Thursday (5th October), a record number of visitors attended Withernsea High School’s Year 5 and 6 Open Evening.

The popular annual event offers parents, carers and their children a unique opportunity to tour the school and take part in a range of activities across all subject areas – providing prospective pupils with a full flavour of what the school has to offer.

Withernsea High School participates in Bookbuzz!

This year, Withernsea High School has once again teamed up with BookTrust to give Year 7 and 8 students the opportunity to choose their own book to keep from a list of 15 titles suitable for 11-13 year olds which have been specially selected by a panel of experts.

Competitions going swimmingly for Abbie

Congratulations to Year 11 student Abbie Bowden who recently won a Silver medal in the 200m and a Gold medal in the 800m front crawl at Swim England’s National Summer Meet, becoming English Champion in the discipline.

Year 7 Inter-House Football

On Tuesday evening, students in Year 7 took part in an inter-house football tournament organised by Mr Beattie and the Sport department.

All forms played extremely well and staff were very impressed with the attitude of the young players throughout the duration of the event.
