Last Friday evening, nine students from the Year 9 Music group staged an intimate concert for their friends and family to showcase their developing performance skills.
For many of the students involved, it was the first time they had performed in front of a live audience and they confidently rose to the challenge, delivering an impressive array of both vocal and solo instrumental performances.
The students were also heavily involved in the organisation of the event and took a leading role in liaising directly with the school’s site and technical staff to ensure they had the resources that they needed.
Music Teacher Rebecca Tillman commented: ‘I would like to congratulate the students on a fantastic job and say a big thank you to their families for their continuing support. Friday night’s concert was a great opportunity for us to showcase the hard work that takes place in lessons which will ultimately lead to the study of BTEC Music in Year 10’.
Well done to: Isabel Robinson, Finlay Douglas, Ben Lindgren, Sophie Jackson, Shannon Wilks, Charlotte Pryor, Louie Cromie, Elysia Thomas and Lottie Calvert
