Life AFTER Withernsea High School

On Thursday 14th July, a group of former staff members returned to the school for a tour of the new building.

The AFTER's (Association of Friends & Teachers Enjoying Retirement) meet on a regular basis to maintain the friendships they built at the school from 1960 onwards.

The group were given a tour of the school by Headteacher Richard Williman and three representatives from the Student Council – Sam Hoff, Jasmine Rawson and Danika Mason.

They dropped in on a number of lessons including Geography, Art, English, Science and Dance and enjoyed speaking to the students about their studies.

All visitors commented on how smart our students looked and were very impressed with their classroom behaviour and the orderly manner in which they moved around the building. Our students were, as always, a real credit to the school.

Media Coordinator Tim Nuttall who accompanied the AFTERS on their tour commented, "It was a real pleasure to welcome members of the AFTER's group back to their old school. We look forward to maintaining links with the group as they are still very much part of the Withernsea High School community. Its members lay the foundations of success in the early years of the schools' existence and we strive to continue building successes on these solid foundations for the benefit of present and future students."
