Year 7 and 8 football teams travelled to South Hunsley tonight for their first league games of the season. Year 8 were playing a strong Hunsley second XI and were outplayed despite a strong performance from Callum Dean who managed a goal for both teams and picked up the Withernsea MOM award.
Year 7 were actually playing Hunsley's third string team but when you consider Hunsley had 150 boys turn up for soccer trials compared to 11 at Withernsea we knew the lads still had their work cut out. Harry Finn put Withernsea in front before Hunsley hit back to lead 2 - 1 with ten minutes to go. A battling performance saw Withernsea score twice in the last four minutes to clinch the points 2 - 3 thanks to goals from Aiden Snaith and Bradley Walsh. Man of the match was close but Charlie Clarke just pipped Danny Lorimer to the award.
